Introducing the Lowbrow Customs Banana Gas Tank. Lowbrow Customs has reproduced the Wassell Banana Tank, originally manufactured by W E Wassell Limited. Wassell was formed by Ted Wassell in 1946 in Birmingham, England. Wassell also was the original manufacturer of the Peanut Tank, which Lowbrow started making in 2010 under the name P-Nut Tank. This modern, 1.8 gallon Banana Tank is heavy-gauge steel, featuring a wider tunnel (at 2.35 inches) than the original Wassell Banana Tank (which had a 1.75 inch wide tunnel). This allows it to fit a larger variety of motorcycle frames. The Banana Tank has D-shaped tabs front and rear with slotted holes and can be custom-mounted to most any motorcycle. The Banana Tank accepts a 1996 & later Harley-Davidson style thread-in gas cap. There are multiple options when it comes to petcock location. There is a 3/8 inch NPT petcock bung on the bottom, left-hand side that accepts 3/8 inch NPT petcocks. This location is ideal for use on H-D motorcycles, it is the proper location so the fuel valve doesn't run into clearance issues with the engine. There are also two 1/4 inch NPT petcock bungs at the rear of the tank that can be used with any 1/4 inch NPT petcock. They can also be used as a crossover, allowing each side of the gas tank to have equal amounts of fuel. For this simply thread in some 1/4 NPT barbed hose fittings and a piece of fuel line between them.

Note: It is highly recommended to fit your gas tank to your bike before painting. Check for clearance or mounting issues as different combinations of triple trees, risers, and handlebars may cause clearance issues when turning. Tanks are pressure tested but it is highly recommended that you or your painter pressure test it again before painting; it's cheap insurance!
